The chronicler of the Local Congregation of Camp 1 in the Ecclesiastical District of Agoo, La Union, Philippines, emerged champion in the recently held district-wide “Chronicling the INC in 2025: A Photo Essay Competition.”
Lorna Mabitazan’s entry bested that of her counterparts from the rest of the district’s 31 congregations, eight extensions, and two group worship services (GWS).
Each entry, which revolved around the theme, “No matter what happens, let us serve God so we will attain salvation,” featured photos representing four key activities: Propagation, Edification, Socio-Civic, and Christian Family Organizations (CFO).
According to district chronicler Brother Mark Nhigel T. Quelnat, the contest aimed to “promote excellence among the brethren in collecting photos to document the programs, activities, and important milestones in the Church.”
With the win, the Camp 1 Congregation chronicler will represent the Agoo, La Union District in the upcoming regional eliminations, in which districts from across the Ilocos Region will compete. The event is scheduled for June 2026.
The competition culminated in the awarding ceremony held on April 10, 2026 at the chapel compound of the Caba Congregation, where the entries were exhibited.
The exhibit formally opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Brother James Jasper E. Villanueva, district supervising minister, together with Brother Jonie A. Sibalo, assistant district supervising minister, and Brother Quelnat.
In an interview, Mabitazan expressed gratitude to God “for making this activity a success.” She added, “Each congregation showcased photos of how the brethren are united with the Church Administration in participating in all the activities. That alone is already a win.”
