Choir members in the Ecclesiastical District of Quezon City were edified spiritually during their special gathering on February 4, 2024. The main venue was the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Capitol, with the house of worship of the Cubao Congregation as the satellite venue where choir members from various local congregations in the area gathered.
“This special gathering was held to remind the choir members of the value of the duty, which they took oath for before God, and the vital role of their spiritually filled hymn singing during the worship services,” conveyed Brother Raul R. Ysagun Sr., district Church officers overseer, who led the opening prayer.
During the Bible-based sermon, Brother Virgilio A. Del Rosario Sr., district supervising minister, reminded the attendees that they ought to be role models before the brethren. He called on them to inspire the brethren in uniting with the Church Administration in all endeavors, such as in the works of propagation and leading a righteous way of life, by participating in the said activities themselves.
“It is not easy to perform our daily tasks simultaneously with our Church obligations. But no matter how busy our daily schedule is, yet we strive to be active in all of the works of the Church. That is how we can prove to God that we value His gift to us,” said Vincent Balbas, a choir member from the Congregation of Project 4.
Before the closing prayer, led by Brother Danilo Gala Jr., assistant district supervising minister, Brother Del Rosario also encouraged the choir members to all the more be prayerful as trials in life persist, so that no matter what, they will be able to continue upholding their divine duty.
“I undergo dialysis. However, not once did I ever think of stepping down from my duty,” shared Jay-R Del Rosario of Projects 2 & 3 Congregation.
The same conviction is seen in Natividad Lozon, 84, in the Local Congregation of Capitol. “In my age, there are so many things I can no longer do. I get tired easily and get sick more often than before. However, with God’s help, I still fulfill my duty in the choir, and I vow to do so until my last breath.” – With reports from Liya Cortez and Kate Russel Mabale of INC News Section
