“Over 300 volunteers throughout the day, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and that takes commitment, loyalty, and is really making a huge impact here in our community. So, a big thank you!”
Thus said Cindy Lamoureux, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, during the tree-planting activity at Albina Park, Winnipeg conducted by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Winnipeg region of the Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba.
Her father, Kevin Lamoureux, Member of the Canadian Parliament, and likewise present at the event, added, “So encouraging. It has such a positive impact on our environment but it also sends a wonderful message to the community as a whole in the value of planting trees and we should all be concerned for our environment.”
The district supervising minister, Brother Sidney Santos, spearheaded the activity held on September 18, 2021. The brethren first learned how to properly plant through a demonstration by city volunteers. Afterwards, they joined hands in planting 350 tree saplings. — With reports from INC News Section
