Two districts in ‘NCR plus’ bubble, Zambales South, held Aid to Humanity

By MARK ANDRO T. MILAN

Date Posted: May 17, 2021

The Ecclesiastical Districts of Metro Manila East and Rizal conducted Aid to Humanity on April 28, and May 4, 2021, respectively, to help alleviate the plight of citizens whose livelihood were adversely affected by the recent lockdown in the NCR plus bubble.

The NCR plus bubble comprised the National Capital Region of the Philippines, or Metro Manila, and the neighboring provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal.

In Rizal, the district supervising minister, Brother Virgilio del Rosario Sr., led the turnover of more than 4,000 relief packages to the local government of Antipolo City.

“We conduct Aid to Humanity events because God commands us to love our fellowmen. Truth is, this is not a new thing. We have been doing these humanitarian activities ever since, not only now that we’re in a lockdown,” he said.

On behalf of her constituents, Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Ynares said, “We wholeheartedly thank the Church Of Christ for your continuous help to our fellowmen.”

Metro Manila East assistant district supervising minister, Brother Ruel Reyes represented the district in the turnover of the donated relief goods to the local government of Mandaluyong City.

Mayor Menchie Abalos said, “Your project is so wonderful, for these [relief] we will give house to house. We don’t have to make our citizens fall in line or go outside their houses. They would just have to wait, but soon enough their doors will be reached by these aid from the Iglesia Ni Cristo.”

Meanwhile, in early April, the members of the West Tapinac Congregation in Zambales South Ecclesiastical District gave aid to the prospective members enlisted in their congregation.

“In this situation of life, Church members uphold this helping of those in need, be it for their fellow members or nonmembers,” said Brother Igson Candule, resident ministerial worker, who led the activity. “Even though they do not yet fully recover from the pandemic crisis, but you could see their willingness to be of help to their fellowmen.” — With reports from INC News Section
