As a part of the commemoration of SCAN’s 33rd anniversary, Society of Communicators and Networkers, International (SCAN) members from the Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba, Canada underwent training to further enhance their skills in giving first aid.
It was held on February 19, 2022 at the First Aid Training Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
The SCAN members learned how to respond to choking incidents and, most importantly, how to apply life-saving measures including the Heimlich maneuver. They also acquired know-how on the proper way of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults and children, even infants.
“‘Saving lives is our priority’ is the slogan of SCAN. So this activity will help a lot as the SCAN officers perform their duties, especially in times of calamities,” said Brother Rodrigo Malacad Jr., assistant district supervising minister.
SCAN was established on February 6, 1989, with Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the current Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) Executive Minister, as its founding chairman. — With reports from INC News Section
