To help in intensifying further the works of the Church, the Ecclesiastical District of Tokyo, Japan swore in new officers during a special gathering on January 31, 2021.
Brother Manny Benedicto, district supervising minister, officiated at the place of worship of the Local Congregation of Saitama, the main site of the event. The gathering was streamed live to various remote sites.
In his homily, Brother Benedicto emphasized what Church officers should remember about their God-given calling that they swore to uphold.
“The brethren are joyful and thankful to God and to the Church Administration because despite the world’s situation, important gatherings such as this are being held especially in the ranks of Church officers,” Brother Benedicto said.
The congregants were also encouraged to unite with the Church Administration in the more intensive propagation of the pristine gospel.
“I will all the more share what I have received as a member of the Church Of Christ. I will encourage and invite people so they, too, can become members of this Church. I promise to the Lord God and to the Church Administration that I will do my best to bear fruits of holiness,” Seiji Matsumoto, newly-sworn group overseer from the Local Congregation of Saitama, said.
“Church officers are active in fulfilling their duties and they are always ready to unite with the Church Administration in the more intensive Church works in spite of the pandemic and even with the worries in this life,” Brother Benedicto added. — With reports from INC News Section
