Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Ecclesiastical District of New Jersey held a Care for Humanity event for the benefit of the Harborview Apartments’ residents on February 11, 2023.
The said facility is a retirement home along 145 Ocean Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Brother Alex Reyes, district supervising minister, together with the ministers and ministerial workers, led the brethren in the said humanitarian work.
The elderly residents received care packages containing nonperishable food items and toiletries. They also availed of free health screenings, through the assistance of the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) members.
Prior to these, they were shown a video presentation showcasing the Church’s multifarious activities, after which select members of the KADIWA and Binhi organizations rendered inspiring Christian songs.
More significantly, the outreach activity aimed to share spiritual nourishment to the beneficiaries through the words of God written in the Bible, which Brother Reyes taught.
“We’re blessed to have this chance to unite with the Church Administration in helping our fellowmen. The residents of Harborview Apartments were welcoming, even allowing us to introduce to them our faith. They expressed their desire to continue listening to the teachings of God taught in the Church Of Christ,” said Brother Lowell Nucum, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer. — With reports from INC News Section
