“Receiving baptism into the Church Of Christ is important in order for a person to receive great blessings,” said Brother Marc Ibasco, Australia East district Light of Salvation (LOS) overseer. “If one gets baptized, he becomes a true disciple of Christ, receives the forgiveness of his sins, and most especially, he receives the hope of salvation.”
Having understood and firmly believed this biblical truth, prospective members from the local congregations in the eastern part of Australia strove to reach their much awaited day of baptism despite the hurdles along the way. Their prayers were answered as they finally became full-fledged Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members being included in either of the two baptisms simultaneously held on April 29, 2022.
Brother Felix Santos, district supervising minister, led the sacred occasion at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Minchinbury, New South Wales. Brother Seth Gutierrez, assistant district supervising minister, officiated the other baptism at the Brisbane, Queensland Congregation’s house of worship.
“I’m so happy that I now become a member. I’ve been waiting for this,” expressed Anthony Aspiras, one of the newly baptized members. Living in Australia for 20 years, Anthony considers that joining the Church was the best thing that happened to him. “When I heard about the doctrine, wherein everything’s in the Bible, I decided to become a Church member,” he recalled. Currently, he is enlisted in the Local Congregation of Parramatta.
“Even though we are living in a world where most people don’t have time for God anymore, we are still able to bring [more] people to join the Church. This is a manifestation that His promises about this Church are being fulfilled. That He will not forsake this nation,” said Brother Ibasco. — With reports from INC News Section
