Papua New Guinea shares faith through Pasugo magazines

By BUNNY QUIÑOLA and RONNIE H. MUTYA

Date Posted: December 3, 2020

PAPUA NEW GUINEA―Using one of the proven tools prepared by the Church Administration to effectively propagate the words of God, the brethren in Papua New Guinea distributed free copies of the Church’s official magazine to the residents of far-flung villages in the island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean on November 21, 2020.

Spearheaded by Brother Romeo Beltran, Australia West’s district supervising minister, brethren from the Local Congregation of Port Moresby and two other Group Worship Services (GWS)—Lae City and Mount Hagen, handed out Pasugo: God’s Message magazines to every person they met. They were led by their resident ministers and ministerial worker, Brothers Regino Manangan Jr., Edmark Velasco, and Decem Bryan Companion, respectively.

Moreover, other brethren who are working fulltime in various establishments also took part in this holy endeavor. Instead of taking their break times and after-work get-togethers, they used it for a much greater purpose. They also shared copies of the magazine to their coworkers and talked to them to provide more information about the Church.

Strict compliance to the health and safety protocols was observed throughout the activity.

Pablo de Guia Jr., one of the head deacons of Port Moresby Local Congregation, said, “Giving of Pasugo magazines is one of the many ways to share our faith to nonmembers. It is very important that they know about the Church, the proper way of worshiping God, and how to attain salvation on Judgment Day.”

Due to electricity power outages and lack of internet connection in some parts of the island, using other medium of propagation would be challenging. However, the brethren remain unhindered in their active participation to fulfill the Lord’s mission of salvation. That is why they promise to continue to be united with the Church Administration in spreading the Good News in this part of the world. ― With reports from the INC News Section
