The number of Church officers in various local congregations from the Ecclesiastical District of Calgary, Canada got a boost as a district-wide oath-taking of additional officers was held on February 4, 2022.
Before the oath taking of the new officers, Brother Rolando Gaviola, district supervising minister, who was at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Downtown, Alberta taught a Bible-based lesson. He pointed out that the district’s continuous campaign for brethren to hold offices was in response to the growth of Church membership in this part of Canada so that more officers would help in caring for the spiritual welfare of the brethren.
After the homily, Brother Ramil Macaspac, the assistant district supervising minister, administered the oath-taking of the new Church officers.
The whole proceeding was live-streamed to the houses of worship of the other local congregations in the district, as well as to the homes of the brethren who also attended the gathering.
“It’s very important for us to take offices in the Church, it’s a way for us to help the Church Administration, as well as our local or district; it keeps us active, and it keeps us on the right path,” said Allyana Alvarez, a newly-sworn in officer with the Light Of Salvation Committee.
“I think that Church officers serve as role models to the brethren, such as the younger generation, for them to also hold office in the future,” Allyana added. — With reports from INC News Section
