Mediterranean District establishes Montenegro GWS

By JUDITH B. IMUS and VINCE T. BASCO

Date Posted: August 15, 2021

To better cater to the spiritual needs of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members residing in the Balkan country of Montenegro, the Ecclesiastical District of Mediterranean’s leadership organized them into a group worship service (GWS).

The Montenegro GWS held its first worship service on July 29, 2021. Brother Ramil Regino, district supervising minister, led the holy gathering, which was also attended, through videoconferencing, by brethren from various countries in the district together with their guests.

In his Bible-based homily, Brother Regino encouraged the brethren to uphold their Church membership wherever they may be. As the Lord God’s people, he stressed, Church Of Christ members have the firm hope to receive His promises on the Second Advent of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The establishment of the Montenegro GWS is “indeed the work of our Lord God,” Brother Regino said. “We give our special thanks to our dearest Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, for approving the inaugural worship service. It’s so significant that this worship service is an additional blessing here in Mediterranean, this is the 10th country that make up the ecclesiastical district.”

Situated in southeastern Europe, Montenegro has a coast on the Adriatic sea and borders Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, and Albania. The place of worship of the new GWS is located at 4 Sava Bajkovica Herceg Novi, Montenegro.

“We are working in another country where we can’t live permanently, so we keep on looking for a place where we can settle with our family, a peaceful and calm place where we can have work-life balance, and of course a place where we can continue serving our Lord God,” narrated Montenegro GWS Coordinator Neil Cuestas.

“Through our devotional prayers, we had an opportunity to move to Montenegro … In our prayers, we humbly asked guidance in looking for the place to conduct the inaugural worship service and to help us to fully prepare for this very special occasion,” he added.

The Montenegro brethren expressed gratefulness to the Church Administration for strengthening and guiding them in their services to God. They resolved to invite more people to worship services and Bible studies for them to know about the true Church Of Christ.

“We give all the praises and glory to our Lord God because this is another great blessing that He has given to the Church Of Christ by reaching the country of Montenegro, this is a manifestation that God truly wants more people to know about the truth, to know about the importance of becoming a Church Of Christ member for one to be saved come the Day of Judgment,” Brother Christian Ira Ross, resident ministerial worker and district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, said.

“We thank Brother Eduardo Manalo for his constant love and care. We promise to God and to the Executive Minister that we will remain in our unrelenting fervor in our services to God, we will never let go of our activeness in all of the Church activities so that we could secure our salvation,” Brother Regino added. — With reports from INC News Section
