“The best way to start the year 2021 is to deliver an act of kindness to the people of Miniama Village here in Lae City, Papua New Guinea.”
Thus said Brother Edmark Velasco, resident ministerial worker of Lae City Group Worship Service, Ecclesiastical District of Australia West.
On New Year’s eve, he and the brethren from the GWS conducted an outreach evangelical mission at the said village whose residents’ livelihood were also adversely affected by the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Church members invited and gathered the beneficiaries to first hear the words of God for their spiritual well-being. Afterwards, the brethren distributed the relief packages.
On behalf of the guests, Fruitlam Haiye, community youth leader, said, “We thank the brothers and sisters of the Church Of Christ who reached this place. It is the first of its kind that a church reached to us. This will motivate and help us to know how to put our faith in Christ ... We thank Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister of the Church Of Christ.”
On the new year, the brethren in Lae City said, they will continue to travel to other villages to conduct more outreach programs. Brother Velasco said, “We will always share our faith and be of service to the people of Lae City.” — With reports from INC News Section
