WASHINGTON D.C.—A Music and Media Symposium was held in Washington D.C. Local Congregation on January 6, 2019. Music enthusiasts and members of the Multimedia Bureau in the district attended.
Brother Matthew Capistrano, district supervising minister, delivered a lecture on the activity’s aim. “The purpose of the activity is to all the more help hone the talent and skills of the brethren to inspire them to continue to produce music for the Church and also to help our media outlets,” he stated.
After the symposium, the brethren participated in the different team-building workshops aimed at sharpening their skills in music, photography, video shooting, and writing. The proper use of social media was also included in one of the workshops.
Sandra Pascua, from Baltimore Local Congregation, expressed, “Music is a universal language; everyone relates to music and I appreciate that the Church Administration pushes through an activity like this to cultivate the talents of the brethren.”
At the end of the activity, each team performed its own rendition of a song in the span of an hour. — With reports from INC News Section
