Iglesia Ni Cristo sets another world record

The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) is again declared “officially amazing” as it set another new Guinness world record, this time for the “Most People Baptized” on September 7, 2019.

The new record was for the INC Grand Baptism held at the Ciudad de Victoria in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Adjudicators from Guinness officially declared the record set after it verified that at least 18, 272 individuals had been baptized in the historic event.

Guinness adjudicator Joanne Marie Brent announced the new record set by the INC.

“I can now confirm that for the most people baptized, you have set a new Guinness world record total with 18,272,” Brent said.

“Congratulations! You are officially amazing! You have set a new Guinness World Record,” she added.

After the announcement, Brother Glicerio Santos Jr., General Auditor of the INC said, “We return all glory to the Lord.”

An early morning special worship gathering officiated by Brother Eduardo Manalo, Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, preceded the baptism. During the worship service held at the Philippine Arena, the baptismal candidates were urged to make a solemn decision to lead lives of holiness and obedience to God.

After this, the participants were led to any of the 36 baptismal pools specially prepared for the occasion.

There were four Guinness adjudicators who came to the event: Joanne Marie Brent and Pravin Jasmaibhai from the United Kingdom; Solvej Mary Malou from Australia and Sofia Eleonora Greenacre from Sweden.

Independent witnesses were also on hand to observe the proceedings. The auditing firm, Deloitte, helped the Guinness adjudicators in the event.

This baptism at the Ciudad de Victoria was just one of several held in different parts of the world. It coincides with the 10th anniversary of Brother Eduardo Manalo as Executive Minister of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
