British Columbia conducts winter wear drive

CANADA—Althoughthe temperature was -2 degrees Celsius or 28 degrees Fahrenheit, brethren from the Metropolitan Vancouver area of the Ecclesiastical District of British Columbia, Canada gathered at the Surrey Congregation’s house of worshipon February 9, 2019 for an important task.They conducted an INCGiving and Aid to Humanity activity dubbed Winter Wear Drive.

Church members donated coats, gloves, boots, sweaters, socks, and warm hats to the Hope on Wheels, a non-profit organization thatprovidesfree clothing and footwear to the needy.

More than 120 boxes filled with winter clothing wear were donated.

Sanja Poitras of Hope on Wheels said, “This is overwhelmingly amazing and such a blessing. The cold spells that have just happened, have us out for all of our inventory, so this is going to be wonderful. I was very surprised with your [the brethren’s] generosity.”―With reports from INC News Section
