With Covid-19 cases still on the rise in the US, Church members from the Ecclesiastical District of Los Angeles County helped in making Covid-19 tests more accessible to their community. On November 28, 2020, they conducted an Aid to Humanity event wherein they set up a free Covid-19 mobile testing hub in Panorama City, through the coordination of the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, Inc. with the City of Los Angeles government.
The district supervising minister, Brother Jerwin D. Luar, spearheaded the activity. Moved by their love for their fellowmen, the brethren and the local frontliners were able to give over 1,100 Covid-19 tests while observing the health and safety protocols. Care packages and copies of the Pasugo: God’s Message magazine were also handed over afterwards to those who availed of the free medical service.
One of the recipients was Mrs. Maria Gomez, from Mission Hills, California, together with her husband and children. “It was a good experience. Fast. Organized. It’s a great thing you’re doing this. Thank you,” she said. Dakota Walker from LA said, “The procedure is quite simple. Everything is organized. It’s a good thing.”
Brother Andrew Macadangdang, resident ministerial worker of North Hollywood Local Congregation, said, “We want to stay safe, which is why we have this kind of activity for the benefit of our families and the community.” — With reports from INC News Section
