To extend care for their fellowmen amid the pandemic, the Christian Medical Dental and Paramedical Society (CMDPS) officers from the Ecclesiastical District of Mountain States led a blood donation drive held at the house of worship compound of the Local Congregation of Las Vegas on May 29, 2021.
The brethren first underwent medical screening to make sure that they were fit to donate. “This is my first time giving blood. It was nerve-racking at first. [But] just knowing [that] I’m able to help not only the brethren but also people that are outside of the Church [Of Christ] makes me feel very happy,” said Monica Flores, from the Local Congregation of West Las Vegas.
Kennedy Tripp, from the Local Congregation of Las Vegas, said, “It’s great to see the brethren coming together for a great cause. I’m really happy to take part and be able to do something good.”
Varry Heramis, from the Local Congregation of Henderson, said, “Giving blood is equivalent to giving life. Some people just recently had been into an accident. You are giving them another chance to live, especially [those] in the brink of death and in need of blood transfusion.” — With reports from INC News Section
