A 1,242-mile drive, riskier during winter, was among the challenges that the brethren from Whitehorse, the largest city in the Yukon territory of Canada, had to brave to reach the nearest house of worship in Wellington, Edmonton, Alberta.
They would have continued to do so for the sake of their God-given duties, but they were happily grateful to Him, that with the Church Administration’s approval, they were organized into a group worship service thus having their own place of worship.
On February 19, 2023, they gathered at a rented hall along 601 Main St., Whitehorse and held their GWS’ inaugural worship service during which they offered thanks to the Lord for His blessings to them.
They were led by Brother Rolando Gaviola, district supervising minister, who reminded them during his Bible-based sermon that persecution and trials could never hinder true members of the Church Of Christ from fulfilling their Christian duties, primarily worshiping God.
As the Church Administration also approved, the Whitehorse, Yukon GWS, under the supervision of the Edmonton Ecclesiastical District, now conduct their regular worship at a property by Brother Dante Natividad along 15 Tanana Lane, Whitehorse.
“The brethren were overjoyed with the establishment of this new GWS,” said Brother Rennel Romero, resident minister in Wellington in whose care the GWS was entrusted. “To be a part of the growth of the Church is a tremendous blessing that will always serve as inspiration in our lives to uphold holiness and to spread the words of God to all people in this area.” — With reports from INC News Section
