Through the Local Congregation of Capital City, Ecclesiastical District of Ottawa, Canada, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) and its Administration reached out to new immigrants from Afghanistan by holding an Aid to Humanity event on May 7, 2022.
Led by the congregation’s resident ministerial worker, Brother Ken Ryan Paluga, the charitable activity was conducted in collaboration with the Afghan-Canadian Support Network (ACSN), a non-profit organization that provides help to newcomers from Afghanistan.
“The help that Brother Eduardo Manalo has extended is making a very profound difference in the community, and this is not the first time,” said Ms. Zahira Sarwar, coordinator of the ACSN which hosted the event at its base at 1800 Bank St., Ottawa. “With this very generous donation, we will be able to help so many families.”
Together with the ACSN staff, the brethren from the congregation handed over relief packages containing essential needs, such as hygiene kits, garments, and school supplies, among others.
The brethren also took the time as an opportunity to share the true faith to the beneficiaries by handing out copies of the Pasugo: God’s Message magazine, the official publication of the Church Of Christ. — With reports from INC News Section
