With the approval from the Church Administration, the Ecclesiastical District of Brazil established a group worship service (GWS) in Sao Conrado, a neighborhood in the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
This development came less than a month after the establishment of the Pimentas GWS.
Brother Rene P. Manansala, district supervising minister, led the inaugural worship service of the district’s newest and fourth GWS on February 11, 2022.
The brethren from Sao Conrado used to attend worship services with the Local Congregation of Rio de Janeiro, some 33 kilometers from their resident. Now they have their own place of worship located at Estrada Da Gávea 696, Sao Conrado, Rio de Janeiro.
Brother Raniel D. Atrero, resident minister, said that it had been a test of faith for the brethren—which they passed—to attend worship services, and bring along guests, considering the distance and the fare for the journey. “But, with God’s help,” he said, “they kept going, despite life’s difficulties such as the pandemic crisis.”
“I thank the Church Administration for being instrumental in providing to us this gift of God,” said Maria Nilda Marciel, a recently baptized Church member with the GWS.
Eva Lemos Moura said, “Having the house of worship near where we live all the more inspired me to unite with the Church Administration. I will continue sharing my faith.” — With reports from INC News Section
