“Despite the pandemic, the Church officers and brethren here in Papua New Guinea continue to show their unity with the Church Administration in fulfilling God’s command of sharing their faith,” said Brother Regino Manangan Jr., resident minister of Port Moresby Local Congregation, Ecclesiastical District of Australia West.
With the help of God, the intensified efforts of the Church members in the work of propagation resulted in the series of baptisms of more people into the Church Of Christ in this island country located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.
On June 29, 2021, the baptism was held at the house of worship of Port Moresby Congregation. Three days later, on July 2, candidates for baptism gathered at the Lae City Congregation’s house of worship. Lastly, on July 4, another baptism was held at the place of worship of Mount Hagen Group Worship Service (GWS).
All the sacred occasions were officiated by Brother Manangan. During the study of God’s words, he emphasized the utmost importance of receiving true baptism inside the Church Of Christ to receive the greatest reward in the Holy City.
Strictly following safety protocols, the candidates for baptism took an oath before the baptismal proper. They promised God that they will never relinquish their election and that they will remain firm and steadfast in their membership until they receive the gift of salvation come Judgment Day.
On behalf of the brethren, Brother Manangan reaffirmed the conviction of the brethren in Papua New Guinea to be always one with all the Church’s intensified works: “We will not stop from spreading the Good News of salvation because through this, we can help our fellowmen be saved when the appointed day comes.” — With reports from INC News Section
