On the 108th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), on July 27, 2022, the Local Congregation of Haifa formally opened its extension in Acre, Israel through a worship service held in Almas Halls along Hahasmal Street.
The Akko Extension got its name from the local name for Acre, a port city in northwest Israel, by the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Brother Ramil Regino, district supervising minister, officiated at the said inaugural worship service, which was attended not only by the extension’s members but also by brethren from the other congregations in Israel.
With the Church Administration’s approval, the Akko Extension now holds worship services regularly at a property in Kibbutz Halomei Hagetaot, Acre, which is owned by one of the pioneering members, Teresita Marollano.
“It’s a great honor for me to be of help,” said Marollano. “Before, it would usually take brethren here in Akko at least three rides to be able to reach the place of worship in Haifa. Now it has become more accessible [for us].”
“We have long yearned to bring nearer to them the place of worship. Our brethren here are devoted in worshiping God and are diligent in spreading God’s words,” said Brother Paul Jerome Hernandez, a ministerial worker assigned at the Local Congregation of Haifa. “We thank God because through God’s instrumentality of the Church Administration, our goal was realized.” — With reports from INC News Section
