On December 13, 2020, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Group Worship Service of Wewak, Ecclesiastical District of Australia West conducted an Aid To Humanity for the benefit of residents in their immediate community.
Wewak is the capital of East Sepik province of Papua New Guinea.
Brother Edmark Velasco, resident ministerial worker, spearheaded the event.
Upon coordinating the outreach effort with the local government, he and the brethren then handed out the relief packages while observing health and safety protocols.
One of the recipients, Rayap Maringhi, said, “We are very happy here in Wewak because this is our first time to receive help from a religious group. The Church Of Christ did act and pour in love and concern to the people of Wewak. Thank you so much.”
The brethren likewise invited the guests to Bible studies in the future to which the latter accepted saying they were willing to know more about the Iglesia Ni Cristo and its faith.
Regarding this, Brother Velasco said that more than providing material assistance to people in the community, “We will continue to intensify the propagation [of the gospel of salvation] here.” — With reports from INC News Section
