New Era University Commemorates Its 41st Anniversary

New Era University, the educational institution established by the Church on June 17, 1975  celebrated its 41st anniversary.  The anniversary was highlighted with a special worship service held at the worship building of Templo Central.  The schedule for the worship service was set for 8 in the morning but students, faculty members, alumni  as well as parents came in early to attend the gathering.

The opening prayer was led by Brother Ricardo Carpio, University Minister.  Brethren were moved with much thankfulness for the Almighty God with the unwavering guidance accorded to the university through the years.

Brother Bienvenido C. Santiago, the General Evangelist of the Iglesia ni Cristo was sent by the Church Administration to officiate the worship service.  Brother Bien, in his homily preached about the true knowledge that man should possess.  He emphasized that above all knowledge that man could acquire, it is the knowledge about the Lord God that should be foremost.  He also stressed that it is through the true Church and the Administration that God has placed that man will gain such precious understanding.

Brother Romer Galang, District Minister of the ecclesiastical district of Central led the prayer after the homily.  Brother Romeo Viernes, University Auditor led the prayer for the offering.

The special worship service served to strengthen the resolve of the University that it will continue to be a world-class institution of learning with a unique Christian culture of excellence, discipline, and service to humanity.

New Era University continues as its guiding principle the words of the former Executive Minister of the Church of Christ (Iglesia ni Cristo), Brother Eraño G. Manalo, “The prime purpose of this school is for the Glory of God. Let no one teach here anything that will alienate man from God. Let not this school be the battleground of warring students. Let no one destroy the brotherly love that should exist between teachers and students… Above all, let the implementation and fulfillment of God’s words be the prevailing atmosphere inside this structure where wisdom dwells.”  This same principle is what the current Executive Minister of the Church, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo continues to staunchly advocate.
